About the Role
We have a great opportunity for an Accounts Officer with a positive and can-do attitude to join our finance team. The role will report into the senior financial accountant, who along with the senior Accounts Officer will provide valuable support and training to the successful candidate. The role will begin as a part time role with possibility for more hours as the business grows. There will be flexibility in how this is structured depending on the candidate. School hours 5 days a week or 4 days a week are possibilities for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in a small, but experienced and high performing team who work hard but always find the time to participate in fun company events!
Key responsibilities include:
- Checking all supplier invoices have the correct approvals for payment
- Entering invoices for payment and preparation of supplier payments
- Ensuring that all invoices are paid within their payment terms
- Creating sales invoices, sending out to customers and following up for payment when necessary
- Receipting of payments
- Reconcile creditor and debtor accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Reviewing ageing reports and following up on any long outstanding items. Reporting results to senior management.
- Daily and weekly bank statement reconciliations
- Reviewing credit card transactions and posting accurately into the system
- Perform other general accounting & reporting tasks as assigned
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable, accounts receivable or Accounts Officer role.
- Be proficient using Microsoft Excel
- Have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Have strong attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a positive can do attitude with a willingness to learn
