About the role
As our Assistant Accountant you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Disability & Home Care team. Reporting directly to the Division Manager, you will assist in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the accuracy of information and consistency of record-keeping on company’s internal accounting systems
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide regular reports to the leaders
- Performing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties
- Maintain debt prevention activities
- Responsible for all invoicing
- Monitoring and chasing debtors
- Liaising with stakeholders/participants to recoup debt
- Reconciling payments
- Allocation and correct recording of expenses
- Managing participants funding using PACE & NDIS claiming.
- Be available to our internal and external stakeholders to answer queries and provide support as needed
- Financial reporting and auditing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- High energy and a great work ethic
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and work within a supportive team environment
- 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in Xero
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
