Job description

My Not for Profit client based in North Adelaide requires an experienced, full time Accounts Officer to join their high performing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing both accounts payable and receivable duties along with excellent communication skills.
The Responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Record and process accounts payable, refunds and receivable
  • Prepare batch files, set electronic banking transactions and B-pays
  • Monitoring, recording and reconciliations of direct debit payments
  • Prepare and review batch payment reports to ensure banking details are correct
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive filing system of the financial transactions
  • Regular monitoring of debtor payments through aged receivables, timely follow up on unpaid invoices and deal with account inquiries
  • Set up customer and supplier cards, verify ABN and account details.
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Monthly reconciliations of the general ledger clearing accounts
  • Daily data sourcing of member and donation payments
  • Reconciliation of member payment data and of events and venue hire
  • Recording of the receipts in the financial system
  • Monthly reconciliation of membership, donations and appeals paid via online

Management of the appeal accounts (in collaboration and consultation with the Finance Manager):
  • Record donation receipts in relevant appeal accounts
  • Verify, record and process expenses in relevant appeal accounts
  • Maintain a comprehensive filing system for the appeal accounts
  • Weekly appeal bank accounts reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly interest distribution schedules, record interest in relevant appeal accounts
  • Produce and disseminate quarterly and ad hoc appeal statements
  • Prepare annual administration fee collection schedule
  • Record and process the administration fee
  • Timely response to appeal inquiries.
Ideally you will have:
  • Strong proven experience in a similar position
  • Experience working with Accounting systems
  • Strong Microsoft Suite experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work well in a team and autonomously
