• From $138,679 to $146,466 (HEW Level 9), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

THE ROLE
The Finance Shared Services team drives strong financial governance and provides strategic advice to key stakeholders in respect of the University’s purchasing, Accounts Payable and revenue activities.
Reporting to the Director, Finance Shared Services, the role will:
- Manage, prioritise and set direction for the Accounts Payable (AP) function to ensure adherence to University policies and minimise the risk of fraud.
- Manage all activities in the AP function to ensure timely payment of vendors and expense invoices.
- Develop and produce AP reports and review statistics to monitor activities, anticipate problems and maintain accurate recording of transactions and Master Data Records in the University’s financial systems.
- Identify and assess the impact of legislative and policy changes and work with relevant stakeholders to implement changes.
- Act on University’s behalf and liaise with Internal and External Auditors with regards to all Accounts Payable matters.
- Provide AP advice and support to ensure staff understand and comply with the University’s financial policies and procedures and recommend changes where appropriate.
- Coordinate training of University staff, students and creditors to develop knowledge and capability in using the Accounts Payable systems.
- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive a customer service culture throughout the Accounts Payable team.
- Comply with Public Finance, Audit and other related Acts.

As an important part of the Finance Shared Services team that delivers a range of core services and provides strong Finance support across Macquarie University, your experience gained in a similar role will be essential in providing advice in Accounts Payable lifecycle.
You will enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and efficiently meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner. You will build and maintain strong relationships across the University and work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

- Degree qualification; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Working with large ERP Financial systems, and an understanding of the Technology One suite of products would be desirable. Knowledge of BASWARE would be very advantageous and highly desired.
- Managing an Accounts Payable team in a high volume, complex environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated customer service focus
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience in using complex finance systems in a large organisation.
