A new opportunity exists for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our high performing finance team at our Canning Vale corporate office. This role will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable function and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments to vendors, suppliers, and other creditors. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and organised professional with strong leadership skills to manage a team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy, coding, and compliance with company policies.
- Reviewing and approving invoices for payment.
- Managing the payment process, including the preparation of checks, electronic payments, and coordination with the finance team.
- Ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Establishing and enforcing internal controls to prevent errors and fraud in the Accounts Payable process.
- Overseeing the processing of employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and reimbursement guidelines.
- Reconciling vendor statements with Accounts Payable records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing Accounts Payable activities, including tax regulations.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the Accounts Payable function.
- Supervising and lead the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Generating and analysing reports related to Accounts Payable activities.
- Presenting financial data and performance metrics to senior management.
- Leveraging accounting software and other technological tools to streamline Accounts Payable processes

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to prioritise with outstanding time management skills.
