The Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the temporary Accounts Payable Officer will play a crucial role in managing the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate invoice approval;
- Process approved invoices into the Accounts Payable system ensuring GST and other tax items have been appropriately treated;
- Prepare system generated EFT runs on timing as agreed;
- Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies;
- Follow up and investigate all issues to ensure all invoices are fixed in a timely manner for processing;
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies; and
- Support the finance team with other ad-hoc tasks as required.
The Successful Candidate
Within the context of the role described, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following expertise:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Officer;
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
