About the role:
An opportunity has become available for a hardworking, customer focused Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in Port Melbourne. This is a fast-paced role ideal for someone keen to develop their skills and further enhance their career opportunities in the Accounts Payable field. The role involves but is not limited to processing of a high volume of invoices for our exciting and rapidly growing business. They will need to have strong communication, computer, and analytical skills to execute and manage key relationships at the highest level of professionalism.
This role is 5 days on site, and training will be provided to bring you up to speed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process a high volume number of invoices accurately for multiple entities
- Identify and correct any errors and system issues that arise
- Prepare payment runs
- Process staff expense claims, prepare credit cards reconciliations, and follow up on any discrepancies
- Manage Accounts Payable mailboxes (invoices and queries)
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Maintain and actively fostering positive supplier relationships
- Continuously seeking to support improve processes and procedures
- Adhoc duties as requested
To be successful for this position you will have the following experience and attributes:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable principles
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, strong communication skills – verbal and written.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (V-look Up/Pivot Tables)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Self-drive to achieve, collaborate and share on team goals, but also able to work autonomously when required
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks and follow up when required
- Experience in construction industry beneficial
