Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer
We are looking for a motivated Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to join the STREAT team. STREAT, a Melbourne-based social enterprise and youth organisation, provides comprehensive work readiness support to individuals aged 16-24, helping them secure and sustain employment. We offer holistic support, life skills training, and work experience, with job opportunities and ongoing support for graduates. STREAT operates food-related businesses, striving for industry leadership and sector growth.

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide payroll, Accounts Payable and general accounting, support to all of STREAT’S businesses. Accurate and timely processing and reporting of all financial information to ensure all staff, customers, management, and statutory reporting requirements are met.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Payroll responsibilities include;
- Preparation of full end to end payroll on a weekly basis, including pay slips, processing leaving, reconciling timesheet system.
- Develop partnerships with business managers to gain a solid understanding of the business.
- Process of compliance payments, including superannuation quarterly, PAYG monthly and Salary packaging weekly.
- Prepare separation certificates/ final termination pay.
Accounts responsibility include;
- Management of Accounts Payable, involving entering all invoices and coding appropriately,
- Assist in the annual operating budget & quarterly reforecasting process.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Reconciliation of all bank accounts, including petty cash, site cash floats and credit cards.
- Process expense claims.
- Prepare & process weekly and monthly payment runs and create ABA file to be processed by Finance Manager and send out remittance advices.
- Managing all accounts filing and paperwork.
- System maintenance of all records including customers and suppliers.
- Assistance to finance manager on other month end processes.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Backup of Accounts Receivable function and tasks.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement in policies and processes.
Other duties such as:
- OHS audits and maintenance of procedures
- Other orders, including website donations, coffee & cookbook orders
- Other office duties including stationary and general orders for office, manage the phones, manage mail
Experience Required:
Key capabilities required for role:
- Minimum Bookkeeping /Accounting and Payroll qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience in Payroll and Accounts roles.
- Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Payroll experience is essential.
