Kinda-Mindi Early Learning Centres are a successful provider of high-quality education and care to children. We currently have 7 centres throughout Western Sydney with plans to expand over the next 2-3 years.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to join the team, initially in a permanent part-time capacity, for 20-25 hours per week. You will be required to work from our Support Office located at Castle Hill.
Duties Include:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Account Reconciliation and month end processes
- Prepare the monthly financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet and CATS Report.
- Legislative requirements including BAS, FBT and Tax requirements
- Cash-flow management reporting and analysis.
- Journal entries, managing compilation of financial statements.
- Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Conduct final review and processing of fortnightly payroll.
- Maintenance of staff records, ensuring accuracy.
- Developing, implementing and following financial and administration policies, procedures and processes.
- Ensure compliance with taxation requirements, payroll tax, workers compensation, superannuation preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Audits on internal processes, where required.
- Cost analysis on selected cost centres.
- Establish and manage budgets for centre use.
- Relevant qualifications – min. Certificate IV Bookkeeping. Working towards tertiary qualifications in accounting is desirable.
- Experience in managing the finances of a similar sized organisation. Early childhood education and care sector exposure will be highly regarded.
- Experience in preparing end of period transactions and related financial reports
- Advanced skills in MYOB and MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles involved in all the areas that form part of the preparation of the financial statements
- Well-developed understanding of modern accounting practices, including BAS reporting.
- Developing policies and procedures covering a wide range of finance and administration processes.
- Commitment to ethical principles and confidentiality.
- High level accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong, effective communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a small team.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist others in the team.
