Perth Waldorf School Invites applications for an Accounts Receivable Officer (12 monthsMaternity Cover. with the possibility of permanency) Commencing ASAP
Perth Waldorf School is seeking an energetic and eager individual to join the Finance Department as an Accounts Receivable Officer (Maternity Cover, with the possibility of permanency). The school is located in a bushland setting in the southern suburbs of Perth (approx. 20 minutes from the CBD). Nearby is the popular and cosmopolitan town of Fremantle and the school is only 15 minutes from the coast. We provide a full Steiner curriculum from Playgroup to Class 12. We also have a separate campus being developed for Class 7 to 12 in Parkerville.
The position is initially offered at 0.6 FTE (3 days) with the intention of increasing to 0.8 FTE after a probation period. The hours are usual business hours, including school holidays, however this can be negotiated by the successful candidate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
- End to end Accounts Receivable processing, monitoring, and management on behalf of the school.
- Working with families, parents, and various organisations to address their queries and issues.
- Working collaboratively in a small finance and admin team to ensure AR requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Monitoring, recording, and following up debt collection requirements.
- Processing and maintaining private and sensitive information.
- Other finance requirements as directed by the Senior Finance Officer.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in an AR role or similar.
- Experience in Xero accounting software, or similar.
- Strong customer service ethos with a positive, confident attitude.
- Be a self-motivated, flexible team player.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deal with conflicting priorities.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, sensitivity, tact, discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
- Be reliable and possess a willingness to learn.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous AR experience within an educational institution.
- Knowledge of SENTRAL school software.
- Possess a current C class driver's license.
- Applicants must have permission to work in Western Australia and hold a Working with Children Check or be prepared to apply for one.
