We are seeking a customer-driven individual with finance experience to join our dynamic Financial Services team as a Finance Officer (Accounts Receivable & Banking).

About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Accounting Services, the Finance Officer will perform the Accounts Receivable and Banking functions for the City, ensuring all activities adhere to City’s policies, procedures, and best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Balance the ledger and prepare an aged outstanding debtor list for review.
- Process bank transfers, prepare bank reconciliations, and address banking and revenue-related activities.
- Prepare and process trust refunds, reconcile accounts, and manage the trust system.
- Record all banking payments and/or transfers in the register for Council endorsement.
- Provide support and relief to other Finance Officers when required.
About the successful candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures and accrual accounting principles, as well as well-developed numerical skills.
Other requirements:
- Certificate IV in Accounting/Finance, or progression towards a relevant qualification, or possess equivalent accredited industry-based training or demonstrated significant knowledge and experience in a similar role.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Civica Authority and/or TechnologyOne financial accounting software is highly regarded.
- Current “C” class Drivers Licence.
- Current National Police Certificate.
What we offer
This permanent, full-time position offers a cash salary range of $79,105 - $92,020 per annum (subject to annual review), dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
