Accounts Receivable & Payables Officer

Company Overview: Join our dynamic team at C.R. Laurence of Australia, a leading supplier to the glass and glazing industry. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Receivable and Payables Clerk to join our finance department.

Position Overview: As an Accounts Receivable and Payables Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be responsible for managing both the Accounts Receivable and payables functions, accurately processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile incoming payments from customers
• Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and customer interactions
• Assist with the resolution of billing discrepancies and disputes
• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and payment issues
• Assist with other ad hoc finance projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in Accounts Receivable and payables
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tandem)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
