Admin & Finance Officer
0.8FTE (negotiable and flexible for the right candidate, consideration would be given to term-time role)
Location: Ideally Canberra. However, remote will be considered for the right candidate
The Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers Inc. (AAMT) is a fast paced organisation which seeks to support excellence in Mathematics Education across the country. We have a wide variety of stakeholders. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, reliable and task-oriented Admin & Finance Officer to join our Canberra-based team. The ideal person for the job will have exceptional communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail. It would be desirable for the candidate to have experience with integrated Financial Management Information Systems (preferably Xero). They will be a proactive problem solver who is able to adapt and respond to the ever changing landscape in which we operate.
Main Duties
- Finance Management, including but not limited to Accounts Payable and Receivable, credit card reconciliations, payroll, BAS, GST, reporting of BAS and PAYG;
- Maintaining the organisation’s insurance requirements;
- Maintenance of the asset register;
- Manage AAMT and NMSS events such as webinars, conferences and other professional learning activities and events including generating invoices for events and products as necessary;
- Support with other tasks including emails, phone calls, Maths300 administration, Journal production, membership database etc.;
- Administer, in collaboration with others, AAMT’s bookstore;
- Support the CEO through basic tasks such as scheduling, mail, email and other logistics as required.

This job is offered as a 0.8FTE role. However, for the right candidate this can be adjusted accordingly including consideration of a ‘school time only’ contract to support applicants who have childcare responsibilities.
