The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) is one of 23 Dioceses that form the Anglican Church of Australia. The Diocese works to care for and improve the life of the community through a network of parishes, schools, community services, ministry education, and social justice.
The Ministry Education Commission (MEC) supports the mission of the Anglican Church by providing theological education and ministry training at St Francis College, located in Milton, Brisbane.
St Francis College is seeking an Administration Assistant who will shape the first impressions and foster meaningful connections with staff, students, residents and regular visitors to St Francis College. Reporting to the Executive Director, MEC, and working closely with the Business Manager, the role is vital in ensuring smooth operations and effective communication both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration Assistant and Reception: The first impressions of St Francis College are positive, with the reception area being maintained as a welcoming space and the phone being answered in a friendly manner, with all enquiries being forwarded or followed up in a timely way.
- Bookings Administration: Ensuring the process of booking rooms for both internal and external customers is managed in a professional way with clarity about expectations and prompt advice about changes in requirements.
- Communication: The receptionist maintains respectful and professional communication with all stakeholders both verbally and in writing whilst ensuring timely transmission of messages and ensuring there are no breaches of confidentiality.
- Promotions and Marketing: The effective and creative promotion of St Francis College courses, ministry education programs and events across a variety of communication channels including social media platforms. Consistent and accurate representation of St Francis College’s brand across all channels.
- Administration and Safeguarding: Administration tasks are performed efficiently and accurately whilst adhering to deadlines. Safeguarding protocols are strictly adhered to and immediate reporting and resolution of any safeguarding issues.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience in the use of design software.
- Experience in website and app design, marketing and social media promotions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work co-operatively and contribute to a positive work environment, with a commitment to providing high quality service in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Excellent organisational ability with a high degree of attention to detail, undertaken in a timely manner with capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in reception and administration desirable.
- Experience in hospitality, customer service or willingness to learn.
Qualifications & Licences
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant qualifications
- Satisfactory National Police Check
