The Team
We are seeking a passionate Administration Assistant/Paralegal to work across our Abuse Lawpractice, on a permanent basis in our Perth office. Reporting to a Practice Leader, you will work on a range of litigated matters for claimants that have experienced child sexual abuse – assisting vulnerable people with achieving justice, and bringing sensitivity and expertise to the table.
Although Abuse Law experience across any jurisdiction is ideal, it's not essential for success - we are open to mentoring an eager and experienced candidate with exposure to personal injury law, in this interesting and rewarding field, with great development opportunities.
Please note that although this is a full-time opportunity, we are open to considering a minimum of four (4) days per week for the right candidate.
The Role
- Providing high quality, compassionate service to our clients including by way of verbal and written communication.
- Communicating verbally and in writing with medical providers, insurers and other third parties in a professional and confident manner.
- Preparing documents and correspondence efficiently and with impeccable attention to detail.
- Preparing schedules of out of pocket expenses and travel expenses.
- General administrative duties as required.
- Scanning and saving of documents as needed.
- Arranging couriers.
- Demonstrating a commitment to upholding the firm's core values and behavioural standards.
- Actively contributing to building a positive external profile and brand for the firm as well as strong relationships with the firm’s staff, creating a positive and progressive working environment.
- Previous experience in a law firm (particularly in personal injury litigation) will be highly regarded, but not essential for success.
- A keen interest to build a career in Abuse Law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy including the ability to learn new systems and platforms.
- High level of organisation, time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as follow processes and direction from supervisors.
- An enthusiastic approach to work.
