Administration Officer - Economic & Community Development

We are currently looking for Admin Officer on a temporary basis for a parental leave cover, working for 76 per fortnight, 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. The candidate rate is $43/hr. We are looking for an immediate start.
Position Objectives:
To provide efficient administrative and clerical support across a broad range of areas contributing to the effective operation of the Economic & Community Development Department.
Key Accountabilities:
- Undertake general administrative duties and provide clerical support including basic research as required to the Economic & Community Development Department and in particular the Manager Economic & Community Development
- Undertake typing and processing of various reports and in particular for Council and Committees, memorandums, correspondence and other associated tasks as required
- Assist in the preparation and conduct of meetings for the Department including meeting set ups, invitations, agendas, handouts, PowerPoint presentations and minute taking as required
- Assist in registering and controlling inward and outward correspondence in ECM and Pathways including generating customer requests and undertaking document searches as required
- Receive public and general enquiries, taking appropriate action in line with established policies and practices with the aim of maintaining a strong customer focussed service
- Coordinate the Section's smaller events as required including invitations, room bookings and other associated activities, liaising with the Marketing Department as appropriate
- Assist with the scheduling of appointments and diary management for the Manager Economic & Community Development as required
- Previous relevant administrative experience with proven organisational skills and ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service
- Proven ability to utilise personal computer applications, in particular the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and preferably including experience with an electronic Records Management system and specialised operational programs.
- Ability to work effectively both as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).
- Previous experience within a local government or similar environment preferably within a community services related are. Desirable
- Possession of or ability to acquire, a current motor vehicle driver's licence. Desirable
