UTS Childcare are looking for a permanent Administration Officer to work at our Blackfriars Children's Centre in Chippendale, Sydney.
The position is responsible for the smooth functioning of the administrative functions of the Childcare Centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining accurate Childcare fee accounts in accordance with all relevant legislation
- Maintenance of accounts payable / receivables
- Reconciliation of accounts
- Payment of creditor accounts
- Provision of accurate and timely information to the Finance Manager as required for financial reports
- Establishment and maintenance of office systems
- Handling customer service enquiries on the phone and in person
- Provide general support to the Head of Child Care in the distribution of Board and committee papers, and act as Board minute secretary.
The position involves working cooperatively as part of a small team and requires the ability to develop effective liaison with our stakeholders. The Administration Officer will work under limited supervision and is expected to apply knowledge with depth and possess a broad range of skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Book keeping or accounting qualification or substantial relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Previous office experience
- Previous finance, accounting or book keeping experience
- Demonstrated high level ability to complete accounting processes and reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner, with limited supervision
- Demonstrated professional level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated high level IT literacy including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Email
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to promote effective partnerships with families
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and effectively in a team environment
- A high degree of integrity & ability to maintain confidentiality
- The ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work effectively
- Ability to work within UTSCC policies and reflect organisational values
Desirable
- Previous experience in Early Childhood Education
- Knowledge of Hubworks or other child care computer program
- IT proficiency relating to printers, photocopiers, servers, websites, Microsoft Excel etc
- Previous experience in minute taking
You must have a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
