The Department of Tissue Pathology & Diagnostic Oncology, at Westmead Hospital have an opportunity for a permanent Full Time Administration
Officer to join the team.

Where you'll be working
Provide an effective full range of tissue pathology administrative support services, including tissue pathology transcription typing, front desk reception, customer service, material handling (diagnostic, research, referrals and clinico-pathological meetings) and case allocation, filing and records management, mail receipt and sorting, photocopying and scanning to support the smooth running of the service.

- Proven computer literacy and strong keyboard skills with speed (50-60 wpm) and 95% accuracy, including use of digital transcription equipment, voice recognition systems, laboratory information system, word processing and Microsoft applications.
- Proven experience working in a high workload transcription environment using medical/pathology terminology.
- Demonstrated ability and initiative to work both as part of a team and independently, supporting your team members and management, with sound knowledge of administrative procedures in health setting.
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and commitment to providing exceptional services to all clients (internal and external to the organisation).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong written and verbal English and be capable of professionally liaising and working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation using different modes of communication in a technical and business context.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work, displaying time management skills taking into account the impact on others to achieve results to meet deadlines.
- Must be motivated; demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability and have demonstrable problem-solving skills.
- Have an understanding of laboratory accreditation requirements pertaining to Tissue Pathology procedures and materials management.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW HealthPolicy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
All NSW Health workers are required to have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as defined by NSW Health. Employees working in a clinical area or are required to attend clinical areas are considered category A. Category A positions are required to provide evidence of having received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (TGA) and meet the requirements of the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive.You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
