The Nursing Services and Productivity Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Administration Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Nursing Resources Unit has a key responsibility to support and monitor the nursing and midwifery workforce, local management practises and data including, key performance indicators at a State-wide, Industrial and Hospital and Health Service level. Daily you will be utilising your computer knowledge, analytical and administrative experience to support clinical areas and complete assigned tasks. Your motivated, professional personality will support the team by:
- Accurate and timely data entry and securing of confidential information
- Excellent communication skills
- General Office Duties
- Co-ordinating correspondence between Nursing Services, applicants and Nurse Unit Managers of the MHHS.
About the Team
The Nursing/Midwifery Resources Team supports organisational and business strategy with a specific focus on the Nursing and Midwifery workforce. There is a connection with various stakeholders to bring about the planning of Nursing and Midwifery workforce to meet the needs of the patient, the staff, and the organisation. The unit also aids in rostering, HR and payroll support to nurses/midwives, Managers, Directors, Executive leaders, and other key stakeholders utilising many different IT systems. The Nursing/Midwifery Resource Units core business is expanding to become a centralised nursing recruitment hub for the MHHS, including co-ordination of agency nurse contracts and deployment.
The unit consists of Assistant Director of Nursing & Midwifery and currently two Administration officers. Nursing Services will expand to include a Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Manager, and a further AO3 to support centralisation of nursing recruitment. The Nursing Services team works closely with the Nurse Manager Resources and Productivity (BPF).
