The OpportunityAs an Administration Support Officer, your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and supporting nationally consistent revenue cycle administration activities. You will offer guidance, support, education, and training to hospital-based administration teams to achieve operational excellence, optimise revenue capture, and improve cash collections. This position offers the flexibility to be based in any state across Australia.About YouTo succeed in this role, you must be a self-directed individual with a high level of expertise and knowledge in all aspects of hospital administration. Your ability to communicate effectively and build interpersonal relationships will be essential in engaging, collaborating, and forming partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders across both corporate and hospital networks.About The TeamThe Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team plays a vital role in ensuring the precise, timely, and efficient collection of revenue from the moment a patient encounter or service is initiated until the final payment is received. They oversee various operational tasks, including insurance coverage verification, hospital admissions, charge capture, accurate service coding, adherence to contractual business rules, claim submissions to payors, and diligent follow-up on outstanding accounts.Key ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
  • Defining and documenting processes, policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the relevant processes ensuring that that these processes are nationally consistent, repeatable, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Evaluating existing business processes and requirements for standardisation, automation, and digitisation opportunities.
  • Coordination of workshops, working groups, administration team discussions and engagement activities prompting feedback and active involvement in work practices.
  • Regularly communicate and engage with stakeholders for successful adoption and embedding the new ways of working.
  • Providing mentoring and support to administration managers, in partnership with the Director of Finance and promote networking and knowledge sharing among peers.
  • Champion and promote a patient-centred culture and excellent customer service in all hospital administrative interactions.
  • Foster working relationships with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration for effective revenue cycle management including digital and technology.
  • Ensuring adherence to legislation, government statutory requirements, payor contracts and privacy laws.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in hospital administration.
  • Experience with patient administration systems: e.g., Meditech, Eclipse, SAP, and other relevant health industry specific applications.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high standard of customer service.
  • Demonstrated written skills with the ability to prepare documentation and training/education materials.
  • Dedicated to ongoing enhancement and the pursuit of excellence in hospital administration practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously, within a multi-disciplinary team, collaboratively with stakeholders and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt workshop and training content to different audience needs and learning styles.
Desirable but not essential * Experience and knowledge of private health insurers and payor contracts.
  • Previous experience with projects or change management.
  • Industry certification in process improvement or a tertiary qualification in business, commence or health.
