About the Role
The primary role of the Administrative Assistant (Department of Emergency Medicine) (PA) is to provide full secretarial/administrative support to the Director and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Department of Emergency Medicine, and clerical/administrative support to the management staff of the unit including the Deputy Director of Emergency Medicine and Deputy Nurse Unit Managers. In addition, the PA will support the academic activities of the Department in assisting the medical and nursing staff with preparation for seminars and conferences.
The PA will also need to assist nursing and medical staff with the preparation of documentation relating to their professional activities where this does not interfere with the support required by Emergency Department management staff.
Classifications for this position will be HS2-HS21 ($66,768 - $72,134 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
Year 12 or equivalent
1 to 3 years proven Administrative Assistant experience in the medical industry or other
Demonstrated experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and practice management software
Demonstrated experience with high efficiency and accuracy of typing and word processing
Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Emergency Department
The Emergency Department (ED) at St Vincent's Hospital provides services to patients requiring Emergency Care. There are 50 cubicles including acute, short stay, hub, fast track, rapid assessment and resuscitation. The department fosters a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment that is challenging and dynamic.
