The role:
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of all Central Intake and Referral Service resources to optimise overall business processes and outcomes.
- Operate as the central point of contact for people to speak to someone about mental health issues and receive information and advice about mental health and alcohol and other drug use.
- Recognise individuals in need of further information and/or support by assisting clinicians in conducting a needs assessment using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decisional Support Tool (IAR-DST), and determining appropriate care providers.
- Assist those requiring more information or support by identifying appropriate services, and aiding clinicians to undertake an assessment of needs using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decisional Support Tool (IAR-DST).
- Ensure sensitive and confidential handling of all contacts and that information is provided to the correct staff member in a timely manner.
- Provides high level administrative support and undertake clerical duties as required by senior staff specific to the initial assessment and Referral function of the Central Intake and Referral Service.

The team:
- Manages the National 1800 Head to Health Phone Service for Tasmanian callers, along with connecting Tasmanian GP referrals into mental health support services provided in public, private and community settings.
- Is comprised of clinical and non-clinical staff, providing navigation support for Tasmanians into Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug services
- Works collaboratively with a wide range of services to ensure individuals are guided to the most appropriate support in a timely manner.
Details of Appointment
Multiple fixed term, full time, day worker positions working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 30th June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
