UWA College is The University of Western Australia’s new pathway college. Designed to prepare international students for success at UWA, students benefit from a tailored learning experience across a range of Foundation and Diploma programs, providing the ideal preparation and a packaged pathway to continue their studies at UWA.
UWA College is operated and run under contract to the University by INTO University Partnerships. INTO is an organisation working in partnership with 25 leading universities in the UK, USA, and Australia. Investing in the development of world-class international student centres, INTO specialises in preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Reporting Line: The role reports to the Admissions Manager UWA College.
This role requires a highly responsible and reliable individual with excellent attention to detail to efficiently and effectively perform functions that fall in to two categories:
- Process applications and manage confirmation of student offers.
- Administer some financial elements of the student journey
The role is part of the UWA College Admissions team. The Admission team processes all applications for pathway courses to UWA.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with a broader team in the assessment and administration of applications and associated processes for UWA College.
- Assess student applications including Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) assessments in an accurate and timely manner.
- Process Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare Arrangement (CAAW) on PRISMS for all UWA College programs
- Process confirmations and invoice accounts within the agreed timescales and admissions procedures.
- Process and respond to enquiries relating to admissions in a timely manner (email, phone, or in-person)
- Maintain general knowledge of legislative policy related to international students
- Develop effective working relationships with UWA, agents, students, INTO Regional Offices and other INTO partners/centres.
- Actively contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of admissions practices and processes.
- Other duties as assigned and required by the Admissions Manager.
Person Specification
- Right to reside and work in Australia.
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Education to Year 12 or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience of working in a customer focused and busy administration environment.
- Good understanding of the sector and the key legislations, policies and procedures relevant to international students (ESOS, National Code and TPS).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy.
- Excellent level of numeracy.
- Ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues and customers from a range of linguistics, ethnics and cultural backgrounds.
- Good computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suites.
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake and learn new tasks.
- Approachable, and can be assertive and constructive when required.
