A motivated and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist is sought to join the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Speech Pathology team. The position is 24 hours permanent part time and required to work specific hours of 8:00-4:30pm Monday-Wednesday. The position is required to commence on 1 July 24. The staff member will provide services to the acute wards, however, will also gain broad experience across the whole of hospital/service and will be part of the shared Sunday roster.Employment Type: Permanent Part Time

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai HospitalWhat you'll be doingThe position will predominantly work on the acute wards providing services to patients with swallowing and communication difficulties, however will have some outpatient responsibilities- including conducting the LSVT program and running an LSVT maintenance group. The position is part time and has specific hours set to ensure appropriate staffing distribution where needed. The Speech Pathologist will also participate in the Sunday roster, working approximately 1 in every 6 Sunday’s with a set day off during the following week.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
- Experience in the assessment and management of swallowing difficulties in an acute setting from a range of different aetiologies and utilisation of instrumental assessment as appropriate.
- Experience in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing difficulties in the outpatient setting, including LSVT.
