To be successful in this role you will have:
- Understanding of the culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and ability to incorporate related social values in the provision of health care to clients and community groups.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to problem solve, liaise, negotiate and network, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of primary health care principles and approaches to health care in the provision of and integrated health care service in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Requirements for the role:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to commencement.
- AQF Diploma in Primary Health Care
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
