Here’s your opportunity to join a fast-paced team and play a key role in bringing that safety commitment to life through storytelling, events and campaigns.The Adviser Corporate CommunicationPR & Publicity will be a creative and media-savvy thinker who will support the delivery of the communication strategy to engage media, inform consumers, build brand awareness, and generate interest in Qantas Airways. You will supporting business-led initiatives, project management, reactive media management, project support for broader team, and supporting the senior leadership team within PR. Working in the Qantas Group Corporate Communications team, this role also includes involvement in broader Qantas Group communication activities, including crisis and issues management.You'll have:
  • Tertiary qualified in PR, communications, journalism or other relevant discipline
  • Proven experience in employee/internal communication, or in a similar role, in a high-pressure environment
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for a story
  • Demonstrated experience at supporting media campaigns at a regional and national level (including major metro dailies, online, TV and radio) on complex and sensitive issues
  • Ability to absorb complex information quickly and to distil widely accessible messages
  • Strong knowledge of key themes resonating with corporate Australia and globally
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to liaise with and build rapport with stakeholders from a variety functions at every level internally and with external partners
  • Literacy and proficiency in a range of computer applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Good working knowledge of design and brand guidelines, desktop publishing and print production
  • Proven organisational aptitude with emphasis on attention to detail
