About This Opportunity
A member of UQ's AskHR team and locally known as Advisor, AskHR, you will be accountable for the provision of HR advice to meet the operational and service delivery needs of our clients. The role is the primary contact for the day to day delivery of clear and accurate HR advice and support to staff and their supervisors, ensuring consistent application of the HR policies to meet the diverse needs of our managers, staff and clients.
You will work within the centralised AskHR team, however you will belong to a Human Resources function over 185 people strong. This role will provide you with an opportunity to become an expert in our industry and further hone your Human Resources skillset.
What can I expect to be doing?
Managing the delivery of clear and accurate HR policy interpretation and advice across the full employee lifecycle, referring clients to relevant sources of additional information
Acting as a trusted specialist adviser, providing comprehensive technical guidance and process support around UQ’s HRIS system, Workday.
Identifying and escalating complex enquiries and ensuring prompt response to customer and an effective resolution of matters.
Supporting the ongoing operational needs of clients and contributing to the implementation of HR initiatives and projects
Identifying and sharing ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement and actively contributing to the ongoing development of HR knowledge portals, user guides and user education material.
Building working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues to facilitate a seamless interface between our multiple internal areas of HR expertise
There are two full time positions available: one fixed term contract until August 2024 and one permanent opportunity.
At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099 - $94,512, plus a generous super allowance of 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $103,076 - $110,579 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
About You
Degree qualifications in HR, Business or a related field with subsequent relevant experience in Human Resources OR a combination of relevant training and professional HR experience
Experience providing end to end HR policy advice and administration support across a range of HR processes, within established policy frameworks.
Ability to apply structured problem solving approaches and good judgement to analyse, manage and resolve a diverse range of sensitive HR issues
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and become a trusted adviser to key clients
Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support delivery of HR policy advice and the implementation of key HR and change initiatives
Experience working in professional advisory and/or service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments
