ABOUT THE POSITION
The Client Support Officer, under direction of the General Manager (Support Services), and in line with Regional Housing policy, procedure, and relevant operational and funding guidelines, is responsible for providing assertive outreach and greater coverage in public spaces to respond to local need, identifying and supporting people across the local geographic area of Bundaberg. The position ensures an effective intake process, professional and compassionate assessment of customer needs and appropriate advice, support, or referral, dependent upon that need. The position is a significant role in the advocacy and support of customers in crisis, using a structured case management approach, with community engagement and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders critical to the success of the role..
Selection Criteria
- Support strategic direction through a combination of relevant experience, training and/or education in the area of human services
- Relevant experience in provision of outreach services and the ability to work independently and remotely in a safe, professional, and customer-focussed capacity
- Achieve results through the ability to provide effective case management and accurately maintain customer and agency records through good time management and organisational skills
- Support productive working relationships by building and sustaining positive relations with internal and external stakeholders
- Display personal drive and integrity by applying relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Communicate with influence, both written and verbally, by communicating clearly and effectively in the delivery of quality customer service through effective interpersonal, compassionate, and empathetic people skills with a mature and calm approach to managing customers in crisis or distress
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within their community
- Good computing skills across the range of Microsoft products and the ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of new computing and other systemss
ESSENTIAL
- Must hold a current Drivers licence
- Successful pass achieved on Pre-Employment validation and assessment including but not limited to Police Check, employment history and background check, qualifications, and skills validation
- Successful pass achieved on Queensland’s Working with Children Check - Positive Notice Blue Card issued by Blue Card Services
- Clearance achieved on NDIS Worker Screening Check (or state equivalent)
- Current First Aid Certificate, or the ability to acquire same
