About the Role
Swinburne Student Life has an opening for a Student Advocate to join the team!
The Student Advocate plays a crucial role in empowering students with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the University’s policies and procedures. The role’s responsibilities include providing assistance and information to students through various communication channels (phone, email, online meeting, face-to-face) on a wide range of academic and non-academic matters.
The primary objective is to meet the needs of Swinburne University of Technology students by continuously improving service delivery, providing individualized support to enhance student satisfaction, and strengthening their connection with the University throughout their journey.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is committed to providing professional and responsive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders of the University.
About You
As the successful candidate you will have:
  • Relevant experience in advocacy and/or the interpretation and implementation of policy, procedure, and regulation.
  • A high-level ability to understand the needs of students and initiate appropriate course of actions to achieve a positive outcome.
  • A proven track record in working in a high-volume environment with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communication skills, including an ability to draft accurate and concise correspondence regarding student management issues.
  • An ability and capacity to contribute to the development of a positive and co-operative team environment.
