Your Impact

Step into a role that makes a tangible impact by actively contributing to the development, implementation, promotion and facilitating of injury prevention initiatives. As a key member of the Injury Prevention Business Unit, you will be responsible for the seamless delivery of the Preventing Harm from Alcohol and Other Drugs Pilot Program. 

This position empowers you to forge effective partnerships with organisations and professionals in the Western Australian Alcohol and Other Drugs sector, as well as allied health professionals. You will coordinate the development and delivery of resources and training sessions to support allied health professionals in screening and referring older adults who may be at risk of harm from alcohol and Other Drugs.   

Your expertise will support you to facilitate and coordinate the Preventing Harm from Alcohol and Other Drugs Pilot Program, which will be instrumental in achieving the organisation's strategic deliverables. By actively identifying collaboration opportunities and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, you'll be at the forefront of innovation and growth within the organisation. 

This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about preventing and reducing alcohol-related injury, driving positive change, and contributing significantly to Injury Matters' mission and success.

About You

You will bring experience in designing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating injury prevention, health promotion or capacity-building services and programs. Your responsibilities will include project and budget management, event management, resource development, report writing and public speaking. You will also utilise your well-developed communication (verbal, written and listening) and interpersonal skills to engage with external stakeholders effectively to coordinate the training activities and encourage program participation. You will also have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position.

Ideally, you will possess a tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Health Science, Community Development, Public Policy, Behavioural Sciences and/or other related disciplines.

The technical bits

This position is 0.5 - 0.6FTE, 37.5 - 45 hours a fortnight on a Specified Term Contract ending 30 June 2025. This position is based in our Leederville office, however some intrastate travel may be required. At times, you may be required to work outside of regular business hours. You will also be required to provide a current satisfactory Police Clearance, and a Drivers Licence is necessary.
