About the role
The Allied Health service offers a range of specialist supports and clinical services that aim to maximise recovery outcomes for clients with complex mental health and dual disabilities in the community. The multidisciplinary Allied Health team delivers holistic centered based, assertive outreach, one-to-one and shared supports, , online and telehealth services to clients, families and carers in a person-centred, integrated stepped care framework that targets individual needs. Services include clinical assessments, psychological therapies, streamlined referrals, access to service provider networks, mental health counselling, NDIS planning, resources and information, education and vocational assistance, and recreational activities to empower clients to have choice and control over their services and recovery goals.
We are seeking self-motivated, compassionate Allied Health Assistants for a Fixed Term, Part Time (15.2 hours per week) opportunities to work remotely in a newly created role in the Bendigo, Victoria. You will play an integral role supporting clients with ongoing support needs, assisting them to meet identified goals through one-to-one supports in their home or out in the community. Under the direction of an Allied Health Clinician including Occupational Therapist and Psychologist, deliver therapeutic supports in line with client’s therapy plan.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, person centred services that meet the needs of the client in their home or out in the community.
- Collaborate with others in the client’s life including family, carers, mainstream support and other service providers chosen by the client to deliver elements of their plans.
- Together with the Allied Health Clinician, build a risk profile of the client and manage accordingly as part of a team.
- Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.
- Support clients to remain in their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
- Proactively work with the client to identify barriers to meeting their goals and support them to creatively develop sustainable solutions.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health Assistance or other health-related field.
- Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
- Capability to implement therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
- Ability to plan, implement and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
