About The Role
We are excited to announce an ongoing part time opportunity for the Social Work/Allied HealthWorkforce Clinical Educator role within our large and dynamic Social Work and Community and Aged and Rehabilitation team. In this newly created Social Work/Allied HealthWorkforce Clinical education position, the incumbent will work closely with the Social Work and Allied Health leadership team, including the Head of Profession, Allied Health Education Lead and Allied Health Managers and Directors. This will be to ensure the provision of effective training and development of graduate and early career Social Work clinicians in the community program (which encompasses services such as complex care/community access and response, child and family community health services, aged and rehabilitation in the home, subacute and community specialist clinics etc).
The Social Work/Allied HealthWorkforce Clinical Educator will play an integral role in supporting Social Work clinicians in developing their core Social Work skills across the lifespan (and additional skills as required) and assisting with timely and effective progression of care for patients, utilising key Social Work skills and frameworks. The role will be embedded using educational principles and project methodologies for evaluation as well as comprehensive knowledge of the AASW Social Work Practice Standards, Code of Ethics and credentialing and scope of practice. This role will report professionally to the Head of Profession – Social Work and Spiritual Care, be provided with professional Social Work supervision and supported by the Allied Health Education Lead to support the development of education frameworks and evaluation.

You have been developing your clinical (Social Work), education, project management and quality improvement skills or you are an accomplished Social Worker and Allied Health professional with a drive to teach others in your profession; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career. You will be a member of a dynamic and supportive Social Work and Allied Health team working in a collaborative model of care across Monash Health. The position works closely with the internal and external stakeholders to provide care founded on current evidence-based practice for patients accessing care through the inpatient and community based setting, their families and carers.

What you need:
Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work (Qualifying) or equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW if overseas trained (http://www.aasw.asn.au/) - proof of AASW assessment required
Experience with supervising qualified Social Workers and Social Work students
At least 7 years clinical working experience in a variety of settings as a qualified Social Worker
Demonstrated experience in public healthcare services
Demonstrated interest in clinical education, teaching and training
Australian working rights
Current Victorian Driver's licence
