I am partnered with a State Government Agency, in the heart of Geelong to recruit an Allocations Officer for an 8 week temporary assignment Your new role The Allocations Officer will be responsible for evaluating legal pleading and to ensure they fulfil the requisite statutory obligations and identify the opportunities for improvement in relation to claims. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Facilitate the allocation of new legal instructions, reviewing pre-litigated claims and common law applications, and statutory benefits and common law litigation
Ensure relevant statutory prerequisites have been met
Ensuring compliance and data recording requirements on data systems are met
Use initiative and judgement in identifying similarities and interdependencies and develop training manuals and policy documents to capture learnings
Accountable for creating and capturing accurate and complete records of the business activities
What you'll need to succeed To be successful as the Allocations Officer:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to read and understand legal documents with a strong attention to detail and ability to comply with relevant legal and procedural requirements
Technical understanding of the processes surrounding legislative statutory entitlements;
Ability to liaise and advise legal practitioners/representatives about compliance with their statutory obligations;
Sound problem-solving skills and judgement skills to escalate or address issues autonomously;
Tenacity in overcoming obstacles and taking the initiative to recommend and develop solutions to enhance learning and development;
Adaptability to the variations in workflow and demands;
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise work and meet prescribed deadlines;
Intermediate-advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, email
High level project management capability, with innovative solutions focus;
Experience with a legal, agent or professional services environment with an understanding of legal system and litigation process.
Experience working in a Legal/Insurance Environment
