About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and self-motivated Registered Nurse who is trained in Anaesthetics and seeks a challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of our dynamic team! This role is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team undertaking the ECT program at St George's Hospital, Normanby House and offers the unique opportunity to provide excellent patient-centred care in a collaborative environment. Under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of expert patient care and anaesthetic nursing support for the purpose of ECT; you will also be responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure equipment is maintained.
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).
Duties for this position include:
Working efficiently as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Acting as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care
Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge in the area of Perioperative Nursing (Perianaesthesia stream)
Accurately document patient care in accordance with hospital guidelines
Assists in the achievement of ward / unit key performance indicators.

This role requires you to work efficiently in a self-directed manner, utilising your keen problem solving skills and clinical experience to ensure the smooth functioning of the ECT service. As a motivated team player, you will bring your highly developed interpersonal skills to this role to work collaboratively to achieve positive team outcomes in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
You will also have:
Current AHPRA registration
Previous experience in anaesthetic nursing
Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (peri-anaesthesia stream) is desirable, but not essential.
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Department
Normanby is a 20 bed Aged Mental Health admission and assessment unit for people over 65 years old diagnosed with mental disorder. We provide ECT treatment on Monday, Wednesday and Friday primarily for patient with depression. You will be working with a supportive and professional ECT team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
