AO3 Accounts Payable Officer

Public Sector People is excited to announce an openings for an AO3 Accounts Payable Officer. We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to support a state government department on a contract basis. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a shared mailbox for vendor invoices, credit notes, and queries.
• Process a high volume of vendor invoices through the department's Accounts Payable system.
• Perform Accounts Payable functions in accordance with financial standards and departmental delegations.
• Liaise across the department to obtain and verify information to comply with Accounts Payable requirements.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc queries, investigating and compiling reports.

To be a successful candidate, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Prior experience in an Accounts Payable role, processing large volumes of invoices.
• Proficiency in using SAP, Fiori, or other large accounting software systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous exposure to government operations, understanding the unique challenges and procedures involved.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the production of accurate and precise work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well known government department on an initial 6 month contract with a view to extension.
