Public Sector People is excited to announce an openings for an AO3 Accounts Payable Officer. We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to support a state government department on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a shared mailbox for vendor invoices, credit notes, and queries.
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices through the department's Accounts Payable system.
- Perform Accounts Payable functions in accordance with financial standards and departmental delegations.
- Liaise across the department to obtain and verify information to comply with Accounts Payable requirements.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc queries, investigating and compiling reports.
- Prior experience in an Accounts Payable role, processing large volumes of invoices.
- Proficiency in using SAP, Fiori, or other large accounting software systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous exposure to government operations, understanding the unique challenges and procedures involved.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the production of accurate and precise work.
