A Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their team on a 6-month temporary basis. You will be part of a team that prepares regular financial performance reporting and assists internal clients with advice and assistance on financial management issues.
Your new role
- Monitor the group mailbox, ensuring all invoices are monitored, progressed, and managed
- Processing a high volume of vendor invoices through the department's Accounts Payable system
- Performing Accounts Payable functions in line with financial standards and department delegations
- Communicate across the department to obtain and verify information to comply with requirements
- Identify invoices to be processed using alternative payment methods
- Ensure compliance is maintained
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Advanced understanding of financial concepts with strong attention to detail
- Experience using SAP Fior Finance Systems in end-to-end Accounts Payable process'
- Experience overseeing corporate budgets
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously
