Form of workEden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to conduct research and analysis and provide policy advice to the Executive Director, Department and the Commissioner, in the delivery of the Department program of work and the policy and legislative changes to establish the permanent Commissioner.
The Senior Policy Officer will work with the Principal Policy Officer to undertake research/policy projects to support the implementation of the permanent office and the work of the Commissioner.
- 3 month contract with possible extension
- Brisbane CBD location
As the Senior Policy Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Undertake research and policy analysis supporting the work of the Department.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence including briefs, reports, memorandums, and submissions including executive and ministerial correspondence.
- Liaise as directed with key internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting the Department and emerging issues.
- Assist with the preparation of policies and procedures that reflect legislative requirements and support best practice.
A qualification or background in criminology, criminal justice, victim assistance or law would be well regarded.
