Achieve Group are seeking an experienced AO7 Principal Management Accountant (AO7) for a short term contract for 36.25 hrs per week - flexible with days across Monday to Friday commencing immediately.Working as part of Finance and Asset Management within Corporate, the successful candidate will be part of the Budget and Financial Management Team.About the Role
As part of this opportunity, the successful candidate will be required to perform the following:
- Coordinate the timely preparation and validation of budget papers for the Queensland Budget process,
- Collate, prepare, and validate documents, presentations, executive briefs, estimates briefs, and correspondence as required on a range of budget, financial and other issues,
- Contribute to the consolidation, review, and finalisation of the departmental annual internal budget,
- Lead the annual internal budget build for Corporate Services,
- Assist with the production of timely internal budget management reports and other ad hoc reports, and undertake analysis of budgetary and financial performance,
- Communicate with influence complex financial management concepts and business ideas to senior management and a diverse range of internal stakeholders,
- Ensure compliance with relevant Government legislation and departmental policies and procedures in relation to budget, financial, administrative, and other corporate and operational issues,
- Develop and maintain constructive, collaborative working partnerships and relationships with clients and stakeholders,
- Develop and implement strategic approaches and solutions to complex accounting and financial management issues to achieve organisational objectives,
- Apply extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the provision of financial management advice, information, and reporting, and
- Support a culture of achievement, strive for quality outcomes, and contribute to the cross-team delivery of financial services within the department as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in financial data analysis, activity-based costing, and financial modelling.
- Good working knowledge of the Financial Accountability Act 2009 and subordinate legislation and the Australian Accounting Standards.
- Project management experience in leading finance projects.
The contract will be as follows:
- Start Date: Immediately
- Contract End: 30/10/2024
- Extension: Possibility to extend
