Hourly rate: $83.00 per hour plus super
As the Principal Procurement Officer, you will:
- Strategy & Governance: Develop and manage procurement services strategy, governance frameworks, and plans in line with departmental and governmental strategic outcomes.
- Strategic Advice: Provide high-level strategic advice and analysis to senior management on procurement practices, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of contemporary procurement issues.
- Documentation Oversight: Oversee complex submissions, plans, reports, briefing materials, and correspondence on significant procurement-related issues.
- Systems & Policies: Develop, implement, and review procurement systems, policies, procedures, and training to ensure effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department.
- Best Practice Management: Manage strategic procurement functions to ensure best practice, coordinate the establishment of supply arrangements, and provide expert advice on various procurement activities.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strategic and effective working relationships within the department, across government agencies, and with other external bodies.
- Procurement Expertise: Proven experience in procurement and contract management, probity, governance, monitoring, and reporting activities with professionalism and high integrity.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic Understanding: Ability to understand and support departmental strategic frameworks and apply them to new or existing initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, influencing, and professional written and oral communication skills to confidently articulate messages and achieve organisational outcomes.
- Relationship Management: Capability to establish and manage productive working relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members.
