Queensland Treasury have an exciting 12-month opportunity as a Principal Procurement Officer. You will play a crucial role in providing leadership and governance for quality, client-focused, and value-add procurement services across our organization. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the procurement strategy while driving best practices from our central office. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by embedding whole-of-government and Treasury procurement policies, standards, directives, and initiatives.
In this role, you will:
- Embed whole-of-government and Treasury procurement related policies, standards, directives, delegations, and initiatives, develop, and implement better practice systems, processes and training and represent Treasury's interests in whole-of-government Common-Use Supply Arrangements.
- Drive improved procurement data management, project monitoring, benefits management and reporting for key stakeholders, including relevant contract disclosure and benefits reporting.
- Support the development of procurement capability across Treasury, proactively employ continuous improvement methods and feedback from outcomes, learnings, and recommendations to improve performance.
- Provide specialist support and/or manage high-risk, high-value, complex contracts, develop contract management plans, assessing performance and ensuring value for money, benefits realisation, and improved return on investment.
- Research and prepare procurement plans, tenders, submissions, reports, briefing materials, and other correspondence and provide expert analysis and advice for key stakeholders on procurement matters.
- Lead negotiations with vendors and business areas in the procurement of assets and services.
What experience you will bring:
- A high level of experience in undertaking high value procurement and experience establishing and managing governance frameworks and planning, within similar organisations.
- A high level of verbal and written communication.
- Experience in cultivating productive working relationships.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant procurement accreditation would be highly regarded.
