Opportunity to work on Major Public Sector Health Projects. Your new company
Our client is a major Queensland government organisation who is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and direction of health projects across the state. This role will be joining the Capital Division, which is a major program delivering 3 new buildings, 11 expansions as well as upgrades of facilities for Queensland. They are looking for a Manager of Infrastructure Design (Building Engineering) to assist in the planning, design, procurement and delivery of infrastructure programs within the division.
Your new role
In your new role you will be reporting to the Senior Director Technical Assurance where you will be leading the reviews of design guidance material and technical reviews of project requests in accordance with the technical assurance/design stages. You will also be responsible for the following:
Provide technical knowledge and support to the Director in order to support infrastructure master planning, efficient building design and risk management approaches.
Provide subject matter expertise on maintenance, heating, HVAC, electrical services, fire compliance and hydraulic services.
Identify, research and analyse infrastructure delivery trends in technical engineering services to apply to current and future projects.
Assess planned capital projects and proposed maintenance projects on technical aspects, ensuring the engineering reflects regulatory standards.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will ideally have the following
Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering and/or construction management
Ability to travel between different project locations
Proven experience and knowledge of program and project management principles
Experience in providing strategic perspectives on engineering services and infrastructure project lifestyle
Knowledge of government policies regarding technical and engineering standards.
