Your Role and Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting Application Developer - IBM Cloud Modernization for a 6-month fixed term contract, based in Melbourne.

• The client has asked IBM to setup an Operational Change Data Capture/Replication (CDC) capability on their Mainframe Core Banking System to enable real-time changes to be published to ANZ Banks Event Mesh Infrastructure (based on Confluent Kafka) and DB2 tables.
• This will enable the Mainframe team to direct future data requests to the ANZ Event Mesh infrastructure instead of fulfilling each data request individually, maintaining a large number of interfaces. (currently mainly Batch and MQ)
• Fulfil data requests from several downstream applications (incl. Cloud)
• Work effectively individually and with team members toward customer satisfaction and success
• Assist in creating solutions for client and/or internal review
• Participate in client meetings to communicate status or give demos
• Be keenly aware of timelines and budgeting to deliver in a timely manner
• Abide by team coding standards, development processes and best practices

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –

• Having over 14+ years of IT experience in development, support & Maintenance Projects on mainframe-based applications with domain expertise in Cards, Banking & Finance, telecom, Utility and Airlines domain.
• Strong working knowledge in Mainframe languages like Cobol, JCL, DB2, VSAM & CICS
• Worked on various other mainframe modernization tools Git, Bitbucket, IBM IDz, IBM DBB, IBM zOS Connect, IBM Debug, Jenkins, IDz Enterprise Edition, Urban code Deploy (UCD), HP ALM, Service Now, JIRA and Confluence (Other DEVOPS tools).
• Have good knowledge about process & Artifacts for Waterfall & Agile projects.
• Strong working knowledge of DB2 concepts and have worked on CPU Optimization.
