About the Opportunity

This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of IT Services, key responsibilities include:

• Lead, coach, and develop the Applications team to achieve business outcomes.
• Measure and monitor team performance against key performance indicators.
• Manage commercial relationships with application vendors and partners.
• Ensure vendors meet security controls and service level agreements.
• Develop control frameworks for managing the bank's application suite in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving incidents for all managed applications.
• Advise on new application development and assess system vulnerabilities.
• Support continuous improvement projects and maintain documentation of system configurations.
• Develop Business Continuity Management plans for application resilience.
• Report operational progress to senior management, end-users, and stakeholders.

About You

We are seeking someone who has the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in computer science or comparative technical field
• Minimum of 10 years Banking/ Financial services experience; and
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Application Management role
• 3+ years of Vendor management experience
• Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to a broad range of stakeholders through superior written, report presentation and verbal communication skills
• Deep hands-on experience with application implementations, enhancements, and integrations.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining control frameworks for managing complex application suites.
