About the positionThis is not your average tech support role. Come and join a diverse, positive and high performing team. The primary purpose of this role is to support a suite of diverse applications by collaborating across organisational branches and vendors, including Digital Transformation, IT Services, Hansard, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. The Applications Support Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Parliamentary Information Management System (PIMS) and a SaaS product called Parliamentary Portal. There are also opportunities to contribute to training, Knowledge Management, innovation investigations, testing and a wide variety of stakeholder communication.

The Digital Transformation branch in the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is currently implementing a suite of digital ICT projects, including the rollout and adoption of Teams, SharePoint, and other software. The Applications Support Analyst sits within the PIMS Evolution and Support stream within Digital Transformation, which is made up of a project team and a support team. The support team has a unique opportunity to provide day to day support and simultaneously feed into project delivery to ensure support continues to be effective and efficient after project delivery.

About you
The role is fundamental to the support of parliamentary operations: The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service, experience supporting business applications, advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications and an ability to learn new and bespoke applications. Experience working with project teams will be beneficial as the role is expected to collaborate across support and projects. Experience managing stakeholder expectations, troubleshooting user issues, working with vendors, creating documentation, organise enhancements and manage risk are all highly desired.

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience in IT or a related discipline as well as demonstrated ability to prepare documentation.
