Located 12km south of Townsville, a major gateway to Queensland's world-renowned Great Barrier Reef, the JBS Townsville processing facility is JBS Australia's most northern operation. Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area including the Northern Territory, north and north-western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The facility employs approximately 430 employees and processes approximately 900 head per day, operating 4 days/week.
About the Role
Our Townsville Plant is currently searching for a passionate and hard-working Apprentice Fitter to join our high performing Maintenance team. This is a unique opportunity to join a global organisation with a local community feel.
We are open to considering apprentices at any stage of their Apprenticeship.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in and completing the necessary on and off the job training in order to become a fully qualified fitter
- Following safe work practices and procedures
- Working with and under the supervision of tradespeople
- Following all instructions from tradespeople and supervisors
- Attending TAFE as required
About You
- Currently undertaking a Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship
- Strong technical aptitude
- Good communication skills
- Strong rganisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Ability to work a range of shifts as required
- Willing to undergo Q Fever Vaccination, or have completed Q Fever Vaccination
