Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

We are looking for a Business Analyst who is curious about business problems, astute with analytical structure and data, strong excel skills, has a real passion for extracting business insights from data, and enjoys working across a diverse range of topics.
This position is part of the Aged Care Hospital Interface Branch. The Business Analyst (Management Reporting) will provide comprehensive reporting and analysis in relation to the performance of the Branch. There will be multiple data sources, including the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency) Business Systems which will provide timely analysis and reporting to the leadership team regarding performance targets and risk management.

Main elements of this role include:

  • Being at the forefront of shaping business strategies, guiding decisions through insightful data analysis.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis from a range of data sources for data quality assurance and business insights.
  • Problem solving with stakeholders regarding the range of information and data to be to continuously improve the access to timely and accurate information and formal reporting.
  • Engaging and building strategic networks and partnerships with key stakeholders internally within the ACHI (Aged Care Hospital Interface) Branch and across the agency.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues and team members, uplifting department’s capabilities to meet the requirements of its future strategic goals.
  • Planning and managing scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing of initiatives.
  • Ensuring information security management standards are maintained and aligned to the business requirements, and governance standards.
  • Evaluating and implementing emerging technologies to enhance reporting capabilities.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You will report to the EL1 Operation Reporting & Insights, as well as work closely with the Program Support teams within the branch. Foster strong relationships with other internal stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of results using initiative and sound judgement. You will be required to provide advice and support in relation to findings obtained in the data and contribute to the ongoing review and development of information that is accessible across the range of roles within the branch and Agency.

To succeed in this role, these are some of your strengths:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Data Science, and/or Business Analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Data Visualisation tools.
  • Awareness and experience of Salesforce CRM analytics.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills to support influence and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Accomplished negotiation, writing, presentation, skills to influence stakeholders and achieve agency outcomes.
  • Well-developed problem solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build cooperation and partnerships.
  • Lead the development of data visualisations to effectively communicate insights to decision makers.

While this role is ideally performed from VIC -Richmond, Geelong and Sunshine remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
