The Diversity and Inclusion teams are committed to actively promoting and shaping positive and inclusive workplaces where all people are respected and valued. You will:
- Deliver strategic and operational advice and activities across the organisation.
- Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence, briefs and documentation in a timely manner.
- Contribute to delivering on actions aligned to Defence’s culture strategy
- Represent the department at relevant internal and external networks and forums, and working groups relating to Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
- Implement best practice inclusion policies, processes and systems to support department and Government initiatives and priorities.
- Be responsible for whole-of-government reporting requirements, as they relate to Diversity and Inclusion.
- Lead preparations and communications for Diversity and Inclusion events of significance and importance such as (but not limited to) Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, National Reconciliation Week, International Women’s Day, International Day of People with Disability and National Harmony Day.
The People and Culture Branch lead Defence's culture evolution through strategy, action, regular engagement with the workforce, and ongoing evaluation. The branch is structured to build momentum by embedding practices, and enabling evaluation to shape and strengthen our engagement and priorities.
