The Role
- Prepare indicative COMMODORE TRAINING budget allocations and ASL caps affordability
- Discuss anomalies/issues with the DFG prior to budgets being sent out for review and consultation with COMMODORE TRAINING Heads.
- Provide SES, Directors and Managers budget build/development templates
- Input approved budget allocations in Roman, Budgeting and Forecasting Tool (BFT) - Ensure BFT reconciles and agrees to CBMS and the final budget allocation
- Cost Model
- Leading and preparation of cost model.
- End of month accruals and revenue recognition
- Identify incorrect posting though quality assurance review
- Identify all accruals required for the period, both revenue and expense items
- Consult with Director and Managers on Journal process
- Prepare and Park financial journal documents
- Prepare monthly accrual documentation and journals
- Financial Statement packs
- Financial Statements preparation - Preparation of "soft" and" hard" close EOY Financial Packs
- Complete the 'Financial Activities Review' accurately, including those who have a 'nil return.'
- Complete the 'Accounts and Records Workbook' accurately, including those who have a "nil return."
- Identify all accruals and supporting documentation to support the accrual and include in the schedule.

The Finance Manager is a team leader within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters. The centralised business management functions, have teams geographically located around Australia with regional areas or responsibility to support the delivery of training to our mariners.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Business and Resource Management, within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters, this role will work with other team members who are geographically located elsewhere.
