We are seeking a dedicated APS6 Level Strategic Communications Officer to join our team in SURRY HILLS NSW. This is a leadership position where you will have the authority and responsibility to manage and resolve issues across various activities.
Your role will involve:
- Providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision-making for your team.
- Offering detailed technical, professional, policy, and operational support and advice to tackle complex problems.
- Coordinating and assisting in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.
- Maintaining considerable public contact regarding complex, difficult, or sensitive issues.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a representational capacity.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrating exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Championing plain English to ensure all materials are accessible and aligned with our client's guidelines.
- Leading by example as a trusted communications expert, helping internal stakeholders achieve project objectives.
- Drafting clear, concise messaging for various audiences, including talking points and speeches.
- Developing and delivering communications plans, managing approvals, and coordinating go-live materials.
- Building and nurturing key internal stakeholder relationships, resolving emerging challenges.
- Evaluating the impact of communications, identifying learnings, and determining the achievement of project objectives.
- Supporting team members with administrative, technical, and procedural tasks.
