Major duties of the role include:
- Support a small team responsible for strategic communications, information management (web content), and coordinating the production and delivery of learning and development initiatives.
- Support the Deputy Director in management of the Navy Capability Division (NCD) Welcome Day, Induction and Off-boarding processes, and maintaining the NCD Professional Development Intranet page.
- Support the Deputy Director in providing communications support to Head Navy Capability (HNC). This includes producing the quarterly NCD Newsletter, and distributing regular, relevant messages across appropriate channels.
This role sits within the Directorate of Business Enabling Support (BES), within the Maritime Domain Support Branch (MDSB), Navy Capability Division (NCD). The Directorate supports the division with procurement and contract management, costing services, administration support, strategic communication activities, and training and upskilling initiatives.
The BES Communications and Strategic advice team supports the MDSB to deliver strong, consistent, and clear messaging across NCD and other key stakeholders.
The Support Officer - Communications is a key support role responsible for supporting the Deputy Director in managing strategic communications, and coordinating the production and delivery of learning and development initiatives across NCD.
